The Semacret congress was held in Seville on January 9, 10 and 11. The Hotel Bécquer was the venue where geologists and geophysicists from all over Europe participating in the Semacret research project met. During the first two days, different conferences dedicated to topics related to geological and geophysical exploration were held, and the topics discussed were of great interest. They also took the opportunity to go sightseeing in the center of the Andalusian capital. Day 11 was dedicated to a visit to the Riotinto mine, one of the largest open-pit mineral deposits in Europe.
